Have you ever been sent a document where the author has used EndNote to add the references and you're not sure where to start? Here are a few tips to get you going. What you needYou will need:
Ask the author to send over a copy of the library with the references in the document. They may also be able to send over a copy of the EndNote output style as well, otherwise there are many styles available here. What to do nextOpen up your Word document and click on 'Go to EndNote' in the EndNote tab to make sure that Word is using the correct library. You will get a pop-up box asking you to open an existing library or to create a new one. Open the library that the author sent over to you. How to apply the correct style to your citations and referencesMake sure that the same output style is selected in EndNote, by clicking on Output Styles in the Tools, menu ... ... and in Word, by selecting the correct reference style from the drop-down box ...
